WSOM'97 registration and accommodation

WORKSHOP VENUE

The Workshop will be held on June 4-6, 1997 at the Helsinki University of Technology, address: Otaniemi, Espoo, 10 km from the city centre of Helsinki.

REGISTRATION

Reduced fees were available for early registration before May 1, 1997. The fees are given below in Finnish marks (1 FIM = 0.17 ECU, 0.21 USD):

General registration fee includes workshop participation, ice-breaking party, banquet, coffee, and conference proceedings. Student fee includes workshop participation, ice-breaking party, and coffee. The short course tutorial fees include Teuvo Kohonen's book "Self-Organizing Maps". Early registration for the tutorial is recommended to ensure the availability of the book.

PAYMENT

Registration is valid only after full payment and the completed registration form have been received by Eventra Ltd. All payments should be made in Finnish Marks (FIM). Payments must be made net of all bank charges by money tranfer to the bank account of Eventra Ltd (bank: Merita-Helsinki-Finland, account number: 157430-104651). Copy of the receipt should be attached to the registration form. If paying by credit card (VISA, Mastercard, Eurocard) please fill in card number, expiration date and signature on the registration form.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation letters will be sent to participants in the order in which the registration forms and payments are received.

CANCELLATION

For cancellations made before May 1, 1997 refund will be made in full less FIM 300, for administrative expences. After May 1, 1997 no refunds will be made.

ACCOMMODATION

Hotel reservations made through the workshop organizers should be made before May 1 using the enclosed registration form and must be accompanied by a deposit of first night cost per person. Hotel Rivoli is situated within a walking distance of the venue. Hotel Helka and Hostel Satakuntatalo are situated near the Helsinki Bus Station (it takes 15 min by bus from Helsinki to Otaniemi).

Hotel Rivoli: single room FIM 520, double room FIM 620.
Hotel Helka: single room FIM 490, double room FIM 590.
Hostel Satakuntatalo: single FIM 190, double FIM 260.

All rates are per room and night including breakfast and V.A.T 6%.

LANGUAGE

The official language of the workshop is English. No interpretation will be provided.

WEATHER

In early June, the average daytime temperature is between 10-15 C. Dress will be informal throughout the workshop.
