Abstract:
The trend of the publications of SOM and LVQ in Japan were searched using the information retrieval data base JICST. Our works of SOM and LVQ were introduced as 2 kinds of SOM classification problems, TSP (Traveling Salesman Problem) by SOM, and modified counter propagation used for weather forecast. SOM is becoming popular in Japan Society for Fuzzy Theory and Systems as Fuzzy SOM and also in Japan Society of Civil Engineering. It is also summarized that SOM will become a powerful tool for chemical analysis problems.
